Every product carries three marks, and they answer three completely different questions. Two minutes here and you can judge any listing on the site yourself.

  1. What shape is it in? Condition

    The green pill tells you whether the item has been used, whether the box was opened, and whether everything is included.

  2. Then why is it this cheap? Source type

    The lime tag icon tells you which legitimate channel this batch came from: Store Clearance or Brand Overstock.

  3. Cheaper than what, exactly? Comparison price

Let's clear up the big one: cheap doesn't mean used.

Many GoodLot items are brand new and unopened. They're cheap because of where they came from — store clearance or brand surplus — not because of what shape they're in. Condition and source are two separate facts.

A store closing, a season ending, a floor model retiring, or inventory that needs shelf space cleared.

If it's brand new, why is it cheaper than the store?
Because price and condition are different things. Clearance timing, excess inventory, packaging changes and other inventory events can reduce price without changing the product's condition.
Is Open box always a used return?
Not necessarily. Open-box inventory can come from several situations. The important part is that the listing's condition description and photos tell you what to expect from that specific item.
What exactly is missing on a Missing parts item?
The missing item should be disclosed clearly in the listing so you can decide whether it matters before purchasing.
Can I return it?
GoodLot listings follow the return terms shown on the site and on the specific listing. Always check the listing before purchase for the terms that apply.
Who decides the condition?
GoodLot's inspection process assigns the condition against the definitions on this page. If the item arrives materially different from the listing, the listing should be treated as inaccurate.
