Where the goods come from

Plenty of sites are cheap. Very few will tell you why. Every GoodLot listing carries a source mark, and we review available sourcing records before inventory is listed.
Brand Overstock
Surplus inventory acquired through traceable overstock and retail inventory channels, often resulting from over-ordering, packaging changes, or assortment changes.

Nothing from unidentified sources. If inventory cannot be reasonably traced to its stated retail or inventory channel, we pass on it.
How it gets verified
Five checks define how GoodLot verifies inventory
The checks that apply depend on the item's condition. Factory-sealed Brand New items are verified without opening the package; opened items receive additional inspection and functional checks where applicable.
This mark means an item cleared the verification checks
that apply to its condition.
- Source verification We review available sourcing records and verify that the inventory can be traced to its stated retail or inventory channel.
- Product identity verification Brand, model, UPC/GTIN, packaging, and listed condition are checked against the physical inventory.
- Brand New verification Factory-sealed items are verified externally without opening the retail package. We check the model/UPC, visible serial information where available, factory seal or original packaging, and external packaging condition.
- Opened-item inspection Open-box, used, and incomplete items receive condition inspection, core-function testing where applicable, and accessory checks. Material differences are disclosed before purchase.
- Grading and shipping preparation Each item is assigned a published GoodLot condition grade, photographed where appropriate, and prepared for shipment with GoodLot shipping protection.
